Walk Through Texas History

Join us on March 2nd, Texas Independence Day, and take a walk through Texas, getting our steps in and learning about some major Texas landmarks along the way.

Walk through Texas History is a 4 week step-challenge type program. Gather a team of up to 8, or register individually, and work towards walking the 416 miles of The Runaway Scrape! As you get your steps in at home, you can follow along on our journey and learn a little bit about Texas Landmarks.

REGISTRATION

 

Step 1: Join our Facebook Group: Hood County Walk Through Texas History

This group is FREE to join! Here is where you will get to take a “virtual tour” of Texas Landmarks. We can’t wait to see the great State of Texas alongside you!

Step 2: Register through the Howdy Health webpage.

*If you have participated in Walk Across Texas in the past, you will already have a Howdy Health Account and can login with the grey “Login” button. If this is your first time, hit the maroon “Register” button to create an account*

To Register:

  1. Once verified, login with login credentials
  2. Select “Dashboard” under “Walk Through Texas History”
  3. If you are the first person to join your team, congrats, you’re the team captain! Select “Create a Team
    • First question- make sure you join a league. The league code is “wtthL-240123-46458
    • Write down your team code! This is what you will send to your friends so that they can join your team.
    • Choose Your Team’s Name
    • Invite team members- you can enter their email here and it will send them the information!
  4. If your friend has already created a team, you want to select “Join a Team
    • Enter the team code provided by your friend
    • Complete survey

Step 3: Record Mileage

*each team member must submit their own mileage*

  1. Login to Howdy Health portal.
  2. Select “Dashboard” under “Walk Through Texas History”
  3. Select “Enter Mileage Walked”
  4. Follow instructions on screen.
  5. Track team progress by going to “Team Progress” from the Dashboard.
